Today is a good day!

Well what a day, so far I have had two orders, one very big and after telling you about moo.com and sending it to them they have very kindly included me in their own blog as examples of how their minicards are being used. What an exciting day!

Angie Lewin

Each week I will try to share a different artist or thing that inspires me in one way or another.

I am a great fan of printmaking and one of my favourite printmakers is Angie Lewin who works in linocut, woodcut and screen printing. Angie lives in Norfolk and is inspired by the clifftops and saltmarshes of the North Norfolk coast. I love the colours and the themes of her work. It has a great stylised quality that reminds of 1950's prints (which is another passion of mine so more of that another week).  I have her book Plant and Places which is beautiful and maybe I will own a print one day!

Cup, Feathers and Seaweed - Lithograph

Winter Birches - Screenprint

Clocks - Wood Engraving and Linocut

moo.com

Just a quick post to rave about a company called moo.com they produced the lovely little tags I had made for the Summer Postcard Packs. The beauty of them is that you can order any amount of cards you like and have a different image on each one for no extra cost. The quality and the stock they are printed on are very good and although they said a delivery of a week and a half they arrived in just two days. From now until Wednesday 20th July they are having a sale with 30% off everything. Go and check them out.

Summer Postcard Pack

My summer postcard packs have arrived! Well I got them printed a few weeks ago actually but I have finally put the finishing touches to the packaging with a little help from some marvellous mini cards from moo.com.

There are two packs one which contains Beach Huts and Camper Vans and the other Shells and Starfish. They are digital illustrations based on some screen prints I did a few years ago. I have a couple of local galleries interested in them and they are now available to buy on my Folksy Shop

The Plan

So the plan this year is to produce:

Summer Postcard Packs
Christmas Card Range
Birthday Card Range
Book into Christmas Fairs
Launch Website

Well I am two months into working from home and so have I produced the Summer Postcards (more of them to follow) and the website is well underway and looking good. I just have to set up the shop now, get some more stock then we should be up and running.

Busy, busy, busy

Thats what I have been over the past couple of months! Since leaving my job I have managed to design and print sixteen different types of postcards and get started (and almost finished) the website all of which will be revealed soon

As for now I promise I will keep up with my updates on a more regular basis!
