Father's Day

Finally this week more new designs, this time Father's Day. This is the first proper male range I have produced and I am hoping to do some birthday cards in this style too. They are 150mm square and will all be in the online shop very soon at £1.99 each.

Easter Cards

More spring seasons, this time Easter. A fun little set of cards that are bright and bold with clean white backgrounds to keep them looking fresh. They are 125mm square, available in packs of four or single cards and will be in the online shop very soon.

Teacups- Mother's Day!

Yes two posts in one day! Here are the rest of the Mother's Day cards this time in a new illustrative style using teacups as a theme.

I am experimenting at the moment, just to see which cards are the most popular as I may turn them into a full range of birthday cards in the future. Easter Cards tomorrow!

Vintage Mother's Day

After a very busy two weeks I have finally sent off the spring seasons cards to the printers. The first of which are Mother's Day. For these first designs I wanted to explore a vintage theme (something very different for me). I think it makes a very pretty card that would be suitable for young or older mother's.

The cards are 150mm x 150mm square with a retail price of £1.99 and will be available in the online shop in the next few weeks.

I will also be posting for more Mother's Day, Easter and Father's Day over the next couple of days too.

Top Drawer

On Sunday I went to Top Drawer. I have not been for a couple of years so was looking forward to the day out. I thought it was a lot bigger than other years and this year there was the welcome addition of the Home Show too.

My first point of call was naturally the Stationery and Greetings section and here are a few of the many things that caught my eye.

Carnival Days - The Strawberry Card Co

Joy - Snowdon

Little Rosehip - Rosehip Cards

Way out West - Pennychoo

I also caught up with a couple of the people who I met recently at the Ladder Club. Karen from Paper Salad who had a great stand including a sweet stall and Berni Parker who also had a stand of her beautiful illustrated cards.

All in all it was a great day out and I came home feeling very inspired, who knows perhaps I will be exhibiting next year......

Tangerine Tango is Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2012

Pantone's colour of the year is Tangerine Tango and according the Pantone website it is:

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Maybe a tangerine inspired card range should be in order!

New work

Just started back fully into the swing of things this week with a look at doing Mother's Day, Easter and Father's Day cards. Here is a first look at what I have started on for Easter.

I like the idea of a cut out card theme for the Easter Cards in bright bold colours. I have been looking at different backgrounds but I actually do like the white background to give it a clean fresh look and keeping it simple although it will probably all change before I go to print!

Also I am off to Top Drawer on Sunday, I have not been to a trade show now for a couple of years so it will be good to have a look at all the new trends out there and meet a few like minded people too. This year they are also incorporating a new trade event called Home for homewares and interior accessories which is right up my street too! I will post a full report of all my findings next week.

Happy 2012

Welcome to 2012, which I hope will be just as exciting if not more that 2011. Last year I left my job and started up on my own, this year is where the hard work begins developing and planning for the future.

To get this year off to a flying start there is a great offer in the online shop right now. Buy ANY 10 single cards for just £10 (that is a saving of £5) so get in early with all your birthday cards this year and save a few pennies too. Just add the "10FOR10" code at the checkout.
